Our Sheroes

There are so many women who deserve to be celebrated (including you!). Here are some of our sheroes; the women from all walks of life who we are the most inspired by and want to shout about from the rooftops! We will be featuring our sheros on the podcast and want to hear about yours, too. If you have a shero you want to bring to the world’s attention, tell us about her here.

Amanda McGough

Artist / Bestower of Life Force upon the Resilient Vagina

Amanda McGough is responsible for creating our vagina mascot, which we love with our whole heart. She literally brought our vision to life and, for that, she will always be our shero.

Amanda is an artist living in Los Angeles. She is the co-founder of Multi Editions, a limited edition fine art publisher, and the founding editor of Haunt Journal of Art published by eScholarship of UC Open Access Publications. Amanda is a production manager for artist John Baldessari, where she has worked for nearly ten years. When she is not drawing resilient vaginas, Amanda can be found making her own art, spending time with her partner and son, or learning of better ways to be a conscious and impactful builder of things in the world.

In short? Amanda is a creative force to be reckoned with and we are so grateful to have had her as our very first collaborator.

Samantha Farrell

Musician / Star Wars Nerd / Vajingle Creator

Whether or not Samantha Farrell is an actual human being is up for debate. The only appropriate word for her is luminous, which also happens to be the name of one of her albums. Not only does Sam have a soulful, other-worldly voice, but she is also an incredible writer, a hilarious human being, and an unabashed nerd about all things Star Wars and the various robots and AI she regularly encounters in the course of her day job at MIT.

We feel so fucking lucky that Sam agreed to record The Resilient Vagina’s opening song (ahem, vajingle), and we are so excited that all of our listeners now get to listen to Sam’s ridiculously magical voice on a regular basis. You can check out all of Sam’s music on Spotify, and if you want to take a quick dip into Samantha Farrell 101, Nikki suggests giving Fade Away, Softly Swooning World, Butterfly in 503, and September Sun a listen. You’re welcome.
